This was a project done with the collaboration of the Royal Academy of Music. You can find all the work I've done going to: Animation Studies Blog-Second year animation UWE- Second Semester, or using this link on this link http://giacomofilippo.weebly.com/ram-project.html .
After the CG workshops I decided to try modelling one of my characters from my comic books. The most challenge part has been the head because I was modeling it in a different way, and also the ears caused me some problems. However for being one of my first models I'm quite happy with the final result. In the other CG workshops we kept going with our human shape model. After having given to it a basic model shape we started to do the rigging so that we could animate it eventually. We started putting in the bones and later some external circles connected to these bones. The last part applying other bones put me in difficulties, making me think that the rigging part in a 3D model is not for me.
The Global Game Jam is an event where you meet other people who love videogames and together in small groups you have three days to create a simple videogame or to set the project of it. I had been only the first day, so I just modeled the character based on the character design done by one member of our group.
Here we are, starting to model a human body. Starting from a cube we added details, extruding some parts to create arms and legs. While the hand is usually done separately from the main body so it is easier to create a proportioned hand with fingers. Later it is combined with the main body.
In the first workshops we started to model a chair and applying it a possible texture creating an UV mapping.
